We’ll be looking at some of Mbsjq’s work that has been minted on SuperRare. While some of it is still imagery, you’ll need to click through the image and visit these NFTs on SuperRare to fully appreciate the animation and sound that is featured in them.

Tea & Reflection

This artwork is part of “Astro & the Universe” series by MBSJQ. As the current times are uncertain… sometimes it’s good to just sit back, relax and reflect on the world…your own existence and your own achievements. Artwork size: 2500 x 3000 pixels 1/1, Single Edition.

Tea & Reflection is Mbsjq’s earliest work on SuperRare. It was minted on November 6th, 2020 and features an astronaut (Astro) relaxing with tea under the stars while sitting on a chair propped up by a pink cloud sprouting out of a body of water. Stay with me, we’re just getting started.

Freedom

Astro looking into THE FACE OF FREEDOM #bitcoin A popular selection from [Astro In Cryptoland]. [Bonus] Digital still render to be included print ready.

Freedom finds Astro checking himself out in the reflection of a shiny physical Bitcoin. It’s unique in that it’s first tokenized art from Mbsjq that features the first cryptocurrency, and the colors used in it are unique from many of his other works. For collectors who focus on particularly on rare digital artwork within a collection of work that is different from an artist’s usual style, this is a good one to keep an eye on, especially because the moment you see Astro you can tell right away it’s an Mbsjq.

Happy Now

Astro in his happy place. Digital Illustration from the Astro & the Universe series. Artwork size: 2500 x 3000 pixels 1/1, Single Edition.

Happy Now? Actually, yes. Minted on November 20th, 2020, Happy Now features Astro blissfully engaged with brightly colored spheres falling all around him. Happy Now is even more compelling evidence from Mbsjq that it’s possible to show intense emotion in a still image through a spacesuit with an opaque visor.

Lost Love

One of the most emotional Astro pieces created by mbsjq in 2019. Who is Astro missing? What are the sounds in his head? Where is he? So many questions… Astro & The Universe Series. Artwork size: 1200 x 1200 pixels 1/1 Single Motion Edition. [Bonus] Digital still render to be included: 2000 x 2000 pixels.

There are layers of rarity in Lost Love, which was minted on December 6th, 2020. For starters, we’re used to seeing Astro happy, and in this one he miserably writhes in emotional pain as the colorful alien flowers reflect off of his visor. There also isn’t much focus on iridescence in Lost Love, which combined with the fact that we’re getting some backstory on Astro making this a piece worth watching for collectors focusing on rarity.
